Worthing Table Tennis Club’s 2026 Summer School has come to a close after a brilliant four days at Bohunt School — bringing together more than 30 players, an international coaching team and competitors from across the UK.
The Summer School saw players travel to Worthing from across the country, including Chris Bush from Swansea, who would eventually take the tournament title at the end of the week.
Players spent four days working with an international coaching team, combining high-quality coaching with competition, games, multiball and individual development.
But while improvement was at the heart of the week, the atmosphere was just as important.
The camp was designed to be a place where players could train hard, challenge themselves, compete and have fun — and that was certainly delivered.
Each day, coaches selected a player of the Day, recognising players who demonstrated outstanding effort, attitude, improvement and commitment alongside their performance at the table.
The week then culminated in a tournament, with Chris Bush producing a fantastic performance to take the Summer School title.
Worthing TTC Head Coach Matt Porter said:
“It has been a brilliant week. The players have really bought into what we wanted to achieve, and the atmosphere throughout the four days has been fantastic.
“We’re really pleased with the coaching team we were able to put together and the experience we’ve been able to offer the players.
“The fact that players are travelling from places such as Swansea to come and train with us is something we’re incredibly proud of. It shows that Worthing TTC is becoming a destination for players who want quality coaching and a great environment to develop.”
The Summer School is another example of Worthing TTC’s growing programme of coaching and competition, with the club continuing to create opportunities for players at every level.
The club now turns its attention to the Worthing TTC 2 Star Junior Tournament on Saturday 15 August, with another busy weekend of table tennis ahead.
