The Worthing Central League has been designed to put players first, delivering a fast-paced, fun and friendly competition where you’ll spend more time doing what you came for – playing table tennis.
Unlike traditional league formats, our innovative match structure means you’re involved in 4 of the 5 matches, giving you significantly more table time and less time sitting on the sidelines. Every match counts, every game matters, and the evening moves at an exciting pace from start to finish.

Matches are played in our National Tournament-standard venue, using international-standard equipment to provide outstanding playing conditions for every competitor. How the Worthing Central League Works
The Worthing Central League has been created to provide a modern, exciting alternative to traditional local league table tennis. We’ve listened to players and designed a competition that maximises playing time, keeps the evening moving, and creates a great atmosphere from the first ball to the final point.

A New Format, Designed Around the Player
Unlike many traditional leagues, where three players compete against three opponents and you may only play three or four matches during an evening lasting more than three hours, our format keeps every player involved throughout the night.
Each fixture consists of five matches, with every player taking part in four of those five matches. This means you’ll spend more time at the table, stay engaged throughout the evening, and enjoy a fast-flowing competition with very little waiting around.

Fast-Paced From Start to Finish
The Central League has been designed to keep the action flowing. As soon as one match finishes, the next is ready to begin, creating a lively atmosphere throughout the venue. Whether you’re playing, supporting teammates, or watching other matches, there’s always something happening.
The shorter, more efficient format also means every evening starts and finishes on time. Fixtures are played at the same venue, on the same night each week, and are completed by 9:00pm, making it easy to plan around work, family and other commitments.
