Presidents Cup Final 2026 – All Worthing Affair

The 2026 Presidents Cup Final produced a unique occasion for Worthing Table Tennis Club, with both finalists coming from the club. The Division 4 Worthing I team faced the Division 3 Worthing E team in a friendly but competitive showdown at the Woodlands Centre, ensuring the trophy would remain firmly within the club.

The Worthing I side, captained on the night by stand-in skipper Sam Walsh, lined up alongside Perry Garland and Adrian Head. Despite competing from the lower division, they delivered a superb performance. Across the evening the trio combined consistency with some outstanding individual play, building momentum as the match progressed.

Facing them were the Worthing E team, representing Division 3, with Jovani, Jan Austera, and Kenson Chan taking to the tables. The higher-division side brought plenty of quality and experience, and several of the matches were closely contested, producing entertaining rallies and strong support from those watching.

However, the handicap format of the Presidents Cup opened the door for the Division 4 team, and Worthing I made full use of the opportunity. Strong performances throughout the lineup allowed them to steadily extend their advantage over the course of the evening.

By the end of the final set, Worthing I had secured victory by 38.5 points, completing an impressive triumph over their clubmates and lifting the 2026 Presidents Cup.

The final was played in excellent spirit, reflecting the strength and camaraderie within Worthing Table Tennis Club. With both teams representing the club in the final, the evening was a celebration of the club’s depth of talent and competitive structure across divisions.
