Dramatic Final Day at Cadet British Clubs League

The Cadet British Clubs League season came to an exciting conclusion at Horsham, with standout performances, narrow margins, and a title-winning display highlighting the final day of competition.

The A team produced an excellent performance in the top division, securing a key victory over Worthing C, who themselves had enjoyed a remarkable season. Starting in Division 3, Worthing C achieved successive promotions to reach the top tier and proved they belonged among the best. They recorded an impressive 5–4 win over Brighton before narrowly missing out on the title following a 6–3 defeat to South Croydon. In an incredibly tight finish, the team missed out on gold by just one point, ultimately securing a well-earned third place.

In Division 3, the B team showed resilience throughout the campaign, finishing in fourth place. Their matches were closely contested, with narrow defeats to Maidstone, Limpsfield, and Horsham B highlighting just how competitive the division proved to be.

The standout success of the day came from the youngest squad, the D team, who delivered a dominant performance to claim the Division 3 title. Displaying confidence and skill beyond their years, they secured convincing victories over Horsham H, Horsham I, and South Croydon B to seal top spot in style.

The league continues to play a vital role for Worthing table tennis club for nurturing young talent, offering young players a taste into the next  level of competition and as a platform to higher levels of competition.
