First new partnership of the season

Worthing Table Tennis Club is delighted to announce Strandways Hardware as its first official partner for the 2026/27 season, with the long-established local business supporting the club’s brand-new Central League.

Based in Goring, Strandways Hardware has been serving the local community for 50 years, building a strong reputation as a trusted local business and a go-to destination for a wide range of hardware needs.

Their support of Worthing Table Tennis Club’s new Central League represents an exciting partnership between two organisations with a strong commitment to the local community.

The Worthing Central League is a new, fast-paced and accessible competition designed to provide players with regular competitive table tennis in a friendly environment. The new league forms part of the club’s continued commitment to creating more opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to get involved in the sport.

“We are delighted to welcome Strandways Hardware as our first partner for the 2026/27 season,” said Matt Porter, Head Coach at Worthing Table Tennis Club.

“Strandways have been an important part of the local business community for 50 years, so it is fantastic to have a business with such a long history of serving local people supporting grassroots sport.

“Support from local businesses is hugely important to grassroots sport. It allows us to continue developing new competitions and opportunities for our players, while also strengthening the relationship between the club and the wider community.

“We’re incredibly grateful to Strandways for getting behind our new Central League and for helping us launch this exciting new competition.”

The partnership is the first of a number of opportunities available to local businesses during the 2026/27 season. Worthing Table Tennis Club is inviting businesses interested in supporting the club to explore partnership opportunities, which can include supporting leagues, tournaments, community projects and other club initiatives.

With the club continuing to grow, more than 400 people aged from 6 to 86 take part in club activities each week, while the club also works with 21 local schools to introduce and develop table tennis among young people.

The club supports players at all levels, from those picking up a bat for the first time through to players competing at regional, national and international level.

“We want to build long-term relationships with local businesses that share our ambition to support the community,” added Porter.

“Strandways is a great example of what we are looking for. They have been part of the local community for 50 years and are now helping us create new opportunities for the next generation of table tennis players.

“There are a number of partnership opportunities available for the 2026/27 season, and we would love to hear from other local businesses that want to get involved and help us continue to grow table tennis locally.”
