A Confident Beginning on Day One of the Cadet British Clubs League

Worthing Table Tennis Club proudly fielded four talented cadet teams this weekend as they competed in the prestigious Cadet British Clubs League, one of the UK’s leading development competitions for young table tennis players.

The event brought together top junior talent from across the county and even further, offering high-level match experience and the opportunity for players to test themselves on a national stage. Worthing TTC’s strong representation reflects the club’s growing youth programme and commitment to supporting developing young players.

The D team was the clubs youngest team with not a single player close to the maximum age of 15 and two of them playing in their first National event. The team got off to a great start beating Horsham H 5-4, Noah the star man winning all 3, backed up by Jamie and Nathanael. The last match for the young team was a 6-3 win over Brighton E, Noah, Nathanael and Max combining as a team getting two wins each.  The 3 wins saw the team win Division 6  and will next play up in division 5.  With all 3 players all scoring 3 or more wins each they will all now gain a national ranking.

Head Coach Matt Porter  praised the cadets’ performances:

“Our players showed tremendous determination and maturity. Competing in the British Clubs League is a valuable learning experience, and every member of the squad represented the club exceptionally well. It’s fantastic to see the hard work they’ve put in during training pay off — with six new players earning their first national ranking and the rest already ranked — and I couldn’t be more proud of them.”

A huge thank you to the team of coaches on the day, Matt, Jamie, Alex and Isaac for looking after the teams.
