In a heartwarming example of local clubs working together, Worthing Table Tennis Club and Worthing Camera Club have teamed up to capture the spirit, skill, and sense of community that thrive in both organisations.
The collaboration began earlier this year when members of the two clubs struck up a conversation about how to showcase local activities in new and engaging ways. What started as a casual chat soon turned into a creative partnership — one that combines the fast-paced action of table tennis with the artistic eye of photography.
Over the past year members of the Camera Club have attended National Tournaments and more recently a wide range of the Table Tennis club’s different sessions, documenting the energy, concentration, and camaraderie that make the sport so appealing. The resulting photographs highlight everything from the sharp focus of players mid-match to the laughter between games.
“These images really bring the club to life,” said Matt Porter Head coach of Worthing Table Tennis Club. “It’s been brilliant to see our players captured in action by such talented photographers. The pictures are not only beautiful but also help us promote the sport to new members and being able to work with another local group in the camera club makes it feel even better”
The partnership has been equally rewarding for the photographers. “Sports photography is challenging, especially indoors, when the action moves as fast as a table tennis rally,” said Kevin Hobbs from Worthing Camera Club. “It really helps our members to challenge themselves to catch the best photos they can.”
Both clubs hope their partnership will inspire others in Worthing to join local groups, explore new interests, and build connections across hobbies and generations. For more information about upcoming events or how to get involved, visit worthingttc.co.uk or worthingcameraclub.org.uk.
