This year’s National Cadet league kicked off in style for Worthing TTC, the club having two teams taking part in this year’s competition, the event is a team event for players 15 and under, the Worthing Teams ages were much younger than this with the oldest player for WTTC being 13.
both teams having been much younger than the under 15 age limit shows the talent and hard work the young players are putting in competing above their age group.
The 1stteam consisting of James Fryer, Samson Koo, Hoy Wen Leung, and Herbie Gregory were competing in the 1st Division. They started with a 6-0 victory over Horsham B and continued the great form with a 5-1 win over Horsham Spinners A and Horsham A, the only defeat of the day to Sparta A, with the team going down 6-0. A big shout of to Herbie who went undefeated all day!
The second team of Evie and Ava Muggeridge and Finley Dharmalingam had an equally successful day, beating Horsham D 5-1 before a 6-0 win over Horsham Spinners C, two more wins over Horsham C and Horsham Spinners D followed before, just like the A team losing to Sparta B 6-0.
Both teams’ sit in second place in their divisions, with all still to play for in the coming months.
