national juniro league – day 3
On the same day as our women’s team was making history, so were our juniors!
Jamie Miles, Isaac Burgess and Harley Sinclair had the performance of a lifetime…
With incredible heart and clever play, the boys secure the top spot in Division 1 at the National Junior League in Horsham! Unbelievable considering that the team came from Division 2 on the first day of the competition.
Now with only one day left to play (25th February 2023), Worthing TTC is currently 1st place with 66 points, only 8 points ahead of second place Horsham Spinners.
Let’s continue the great work and best of luck to the players on the final day!

West sussex individual schools championships
On 24th January, the West Sussex Individual Schools Championships in the categories of Under-11, Under-13, Under-16 and Under-19 took place in Burgess Hill. Thomas A. Becket Junior School. Worthing High School, St. Oscar Romero and Worthing College all had representatives in one of the categories.
We’re very pleased to be working in partnership with all these schools – apart from Worthing College – and majority of the players attending are part of Worthing TTC’s Junior Squad. Some amazing results, highlighting the following:
Under-11 Boys – Hoy Wen Leung (TAB) – WINNER
Under-13 Girls – Ava Muggeridge (WHS) – WINNER
Under-13 Girls – Evie Muggeridge (WHS) – RUNNER-UP
Under-13 Boys – James Fryer (SOR) – SEMI-FINAL
Under-19 Boys – Isaac Burgess (WC) – RUNNER-UP
Only the winner of each category goes through to the Regional Stage in Bristol and for the first time in many decades, Worthing has 2 representatives! Well done to all players for their hard-work and best of luck to Hoy Wen and Ava in the next phase.

National Cadet League – Day 2
The second day of the National Cadet League in Horsham was a tough one for our young players.
The A team with Harley Sinclair, Konrad Pokorowski and Thomas Marks couldn’t maintain their spot in the top division. The B team also struggled, only having 2 players on the day.
Nonetheless, the players presented a great attitude and grasped some incredible
individual wins!!
Still a lot of competition though, with two more days to be played in January and March.

Women`s british league
Worthing TTC’s campaign at National level started the best way possible with our Women’s team comprised only by Sussex players, Emma Torkington (Haywards Heath), Holly Holder (Horsham), Sandra Yee (Worthing) and Sally Hughes (Worthing) competing in Division 4 of the highest level competition in the UK.
Playing in Division 4, they are currently 2nd place only 1 point behind Greenhouse
Women 1 (London). All to play for in the last weekend in January!!

national junior league
The club’s rising stars had their first ever team competition in Horsham on 15th October 2022. The Under-19 team of Isaac Burgess, Harley Sinclair and George Ainsley excelled and won all their matches!
As a result, they will be promoted to Division 1 in the next competition weekend on 19th November.
A great feat considering that most have only been playing for a year!

sussex novice tournament
Worthing TTC entered 5 players at the very first Sussex Novice Tournament hosted at the Triangle Leisure Centre in Burgess Hill on 15th November 2022.
The tournament was aimed at players who wish to make a first introduction to competitive Table Tennis.
Worthing TTC was very well represented having Kenson Chan return with a silver medal, Hoy Wen with a bronze medal, Evie and Ava Muggeridge just missing out on the semi-finals and Libby Khrone (the youngest) achieving her very first win.
A great day of Table Tennis all round!
